Meaning of "Other documents regarding the ATO's proof of identity requirements in support of this notice are enclosed" in the Company Constitution package Re: Notice of appointment of Public Officer
Q: Who is a Public Officer?
A: Primary contact and authorised contacts
For all ATO identity requirements, please see:
Proof of identity – for individuals and businesses resident outside Australia
The reference in the document ensures that the public officer details are correct in line with ATO/ASIC requirements so that real people are elected to Public Officership or Directorship.
Q: Is there anything you can provide for the notification?
A: It simply means that the Public Officer's identity details as per the ATO's proof of identity requirements (passport, drivers license etc.) will be enclosed with the company documents, which will be used when registering the business with the ABR to cross reference the identity. All contacts (directors and public officers) need to be recorded within the ATO and it is usually done via the ABR once the company is established.
