Do the executors in a Will need to necessarily see or be privy to the Will?
By way of general comments, no, the executors of a Will do not necessarily need to see or be privy to the Will before the death of the testator (the person who made the Will). The Will is a private document and the Testator can choose to keep it secret from anyone, including the executors. However, it is generally a good idea for the testator to let the executors know about the Will so that they can be prepared to carry out their duties after the testator's death.
Please be advised this is general information only, and is not to be taken as legal advice. If you would like more information, or have a legal query, please contact Abbott & Mourly directly.
