      31 October 2023 - Advanced Strategies for Accountants and Financial Planners

      The world is going crazy and as a financial services professional in Australia - whether accountant or financial planner we are forced to keep ahead of the pack.  SMSFs are about to be hit by a Wealth Tax - the Productivity Commission is proposing an increased death benefit tax on superannuation as well as an Intergenerational Transfer Tax of 20% on estate above $500,000 (including the family home), over 50% of all Wills are now contested and accountants cannot get staff so partners are relegated to compliance rather than high fee earning strategies.
       
      And against this backdrop we have two wars, high inflation, and high mortgage costs plus 11% of salary going into superannuation.  It is enough to make any sane professional tear their hair out.
