Can the Company Trustee for SMSF be used as a Trustee of the Holding Trust/Bare Trust, or do you need a separate Trustee Company?

No. It cannot be used as a Trustee of the Holding Trust/Bare Trust. You need to have a separate Trustee Company. 

If the sole beneficiary is the same as Trustee, then it is not a trust.
